Spring 2022 Class Offerings

We are happy to announce spring 2022 class offerings.

First Period

K-2
Fun With Spanish (Quiles)
Learn Spanish through songs, games, and stories.

K-2
Out of This World: Solar System Exploration (Little)
Grab your space helmet and join us as we travel the universe learning
about planets, stars, and all things space.

3-5
Travel the US with Flat Stanley (Harmon)
In this class we will take a tour of America with projects and
activities based on the Flat Stanley stories.

3-5
Discovering Great Artists (Clary)
Van Gogh, Monet, Warhol, and so many more! Each week we will focus on a
different famous artist, learn about them and their style of art, then
make our own creation using what we learned!
Class fee: $5.00

4-6
God’s Crime Scene (Koz)
Join us for a book study as we look at how evidence in the universe
points to the existence of God. We will investigate this with author and
cold case detective, J Warner Wallace.
Class fee for Book: $10

[Please note: if you had a 6-8 grade student who took CCC last semester
who would like to continue in this series, Ms. Koz would be glad to
include those students in this middle grades class.]

6-8
Lego Club 2.0 (Smith and Mooney)
Bigger challenges, bigger obstacles, bigger prizes await the Lego Club;
this semester students will need to bring their own Legos on a regular
basis and also be doing some exciting building from home as assigned.
Materials needed: LEGOS, basic household items
Fee: $5

6-High School
Live Like a Narnian (Kise)
In this class, we will explore Biblical character and values by looking
at excerpts from The Chronicles of Narnia. Topics include:
Sacrificial Love, Joy, Obedience, Ferocity and Meekness, Folly vs
Wisdom, etc.

5-High School
Knitting for beginners (Rossano)
In this class, we will be learning two to three basic stitches and
creating two to three different projects. We will start with a simple
potholder, then a winter headband, and if time permits bootie ankle
warmers.  Yarn and needles will need to be purchased beforehand. The
Lion brand yarn, Thick and Quick, costs about $6 per spool and can be
purchased through Amazon or at Michaels. Either Wooden or metal knitting
needles size 8 or 9 can be used; I prefer wooden =-)  The needles are
roughly $7.




Second Period
K-2
Hands-on Literature, PART 2 (Whitsel/Ross)
Memorable and fun hands-on activities centered around weekly selections
of rich children’s literature.

K-2
Little Builders (Clary)
Show your creativity as you build Lego creations! Each week will offer
free play (with a different project idea each week) and a time at the
end of class for Show & Tell. There will also be some building
challenges scattered throughout the semester. This is an ideal class for
any Lego-maniac!

3-5
Bible Journaling (Hughes)
Join us as we learn techniques in hand lettering. We will use scripture
and a variety of art supplies to proactive and develop skill.
Fee: $7 to cover book cost

3-5
Nature Study (Kise)
In this class we will take a close look at the beauty and wonder found
in nature. We will collect, study, discuss, draw and paint,
and invent a few games as well.

4-7
The Great Chocolate Caper (Quiles)
Help solve the mystery of the missing chocolate bar recipe.  A mystery
that teaches logic skills and critical thinking.

6-9
S.T.E.A.M. Exploration (Smith and Mooney)
This will be a hands-on class exploring a variety of STEAM projects in a
fun exciting way. Some possible examples could be building bridges,
parachutes, robotics, hydroponics and maybe even a little dissection.
Materials needed: basic household items (teachers will let students know
ahead of time when certain items are needed.)
Fee: $5/student

6-High School
Games (Steinmetz)
Students will enjoy a period of playing card and board games.

8-High School
Yearbook (Deppe)
The goal of this class is to produce a yearbook for our Co-op. The
students will use and develop skills in planning, photography,
journalism, and teamwork in order to accomplish the basic task of
yearbook production. There will be some outside of class time required
and all students enrolling in this class must commit to performing tasks
as assigned.  Additionally, access to a computer is required in order to
complete layout assignments.
