Registration for Fall 2011

Early registration for Family Membership for the Fall 2011 Semester at South Hall Homeschool Co-Op will open on July 5th, 2011. SHHC will meet for classes on Tuesday afternoons this year at Hopewell Baptist Church (Hwy. 60/Poplar Springs Road in Gainesville, GA). Classes are scheduled to begin on September 13th.

All families wishing to join SHHC will need to complete a Registration Form and sign a Participation Agreement and a Statement of Faith (available for download on the right sidebar of this blog). These documents as well as applicable registration fees must be submitted by the deadline in order for a space to be guaranteed for your family with SHHC.

Early Registration (July 5th-25th) fees are as follows:
$40 per family (parent agrees to be an ‘assistant only’)
$20 per family (parent agrees to ‘lead teach’ one class**)
$30 per family (parent agrees to ‘co-lead teach’ one class**)

Regular Registration fees (July 26th-Aug 16th) are as follows:
$45 per family (parent agrees to be an ‘assistant only’)
$25 per family (parent agrees to ‘lead teach’ one class**)
$35 per family (parent agrees to ‘co-lead teach’ one class**)

** All persons wishing to receive the lead/co-lead teaching discount must have pre-approval of their class subject– please email us at the hotmail address if you have not already done so.***

Please note— this registration is for “Family Membership”. Individual class registrations will begin AFTER Family Registration closes in August. We will not have our complete list of class options available until after we know what our parents have agreed to teach. We will have classes available for preK-middle/high school as well as childcare for younger siblings.

Registration paperwork and a check for payment (made out to SHHC) can be mailed to Wendy Timms, 935 Reece Dr., Hoschton, GA. If you wish to pay your fees via PayPal, please use the buttons on the sidebar of the blog. If you choose this option, you will incur a slightly higher payment (~$1) in order for us to re-coup the fees charged by PayPal.

A summer break…but not really!

We ended our spring semester with in our first ever (and likely to be repeated!) Family Night Program & BBQ! What a super night of fun and fellowship. And what talented kids we have!!

Although classes have ended for this semester, SHHC does plan to get together for some fun activities (park & pool days) over the summer. Please email us at the address listed on the sidebar if you’d like to be included in our email distribution list.

Early registration for our fall semester will begin in June so stay tuned for details (they will be posted on the blog and via the email distribution list). We also have some exciting changes ahead for SHHC that you won’t want to miss!

Spring 2011 Registration

Early Registration for the Spring Semester of SHHC will be open from November 1st through November 30th, 2010.

An early registration discount of $5 will be given to all families who register, pay and send in their membership documents by the deadline. (Families currently enrolled in SHHC for the Fall 2010 semester do not have to resubmit membership documents unless they’ve had a change of information.)

Regular registration will run December 1st, 2010 through January 4th, 2010– but may be discontinued sooner if we reach membership capacity.

Family registration discounts are also available for Lead Teachers and Co-Lead Teachers. Please remember your class must be approved by either Becky or Wendy before you qualify for a teaching discount.

SHHC’s Family Membership Fees for the Spring 2011 semester are as follows:


Early Registration:
  • Family Membership: $40
  • Family Membership for Co-Lead Teachers: $30
  • Family Membership for Lead Teachers: $20
Regular Registration:
  • Family Membership: $45
  • Family Membership for Co-Lead Teachers: $35
  • Family Membership for Lead Teachers: $25
Payment may be made by cash, check (payable to SHHC), or PayPal (note: PayPal payments will incur a slight upcharge to cover PayPal’s fees). Please email us if you need the address to send your payment or use the PayPal buttons on the right side of the blog.
The Spring 2011 Semester will begin on Tuesday, January 25th, 2011 and will run for 10 straight weeks until March 29th, 2011. Our Spring ‘Family Night’ will be held on April 12th.

Early Registration for Fall 2010

Early Registration for the Fall Semester at SHHC is now open through July 26th.

Registration Documents (3) can be downloaded on the right sidebar of the blog. Payment may be made via cash, check or PayPal. Your family’s space in SHHC is not guaranteed until all of your paperwork and payments are received. Membership fees are non-refundable.

As you may know, we have a graduated system of discounts available for our members. Our Basic Family Membership is $45 per family per semester. We offer a $5 discount for early registration (payment and registration forms received by July 26th, 2010) as well as a $10 discount for Co-Lead Teachers and a $20 discount for Lead Teachers.

In order to qualify for one of the teaching discounts, you must have a confirmed teaching spot with us prior to making your payment. Please email us if you are interested in lead teaching (or co-lead teaching) a class and we will let you know what areas have openings. All of our parents are required to either teach or assist during both class periods each week.

Park Day

Don’t forget, we will be having our end-of-the-semester “Park Day” on Tuesday, May 4th at Mulberry Park in Dacula (off of Fence Rd). We’ll meet around 10:30 by the playground for the kids to play and the moms to chat about Co-Op– giving feedback on last year and new ideas for the fall.
Bring a picnic lunch and Co-Op will provide a dessert for everyone. Hope to see you there!!

Family Night 2010

Our annual “Family Night” will be held at Blackshear Place Baptist Church on Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 7:00-8:30 p.m.

All families are welcome to attend– participation in the program and/or display tables is completely optional!! Feel free to invite family, friends and any prospective Co-Op members! You may use the printable invitation (link on the left side of the blog) if you would like.

This is always a great way to showcase our children’s achievements as well as a way to encourage them as they continue their life-long adventure in learning.
