Memorable and fun hands-on activities centered around weekly selections of rich children’s literature

(Little) Indescribable God:

In this class, we will have fun exploring the funniest of children’s poetry from Ogden Nash to Shel Silverstein and many in between. Students will keep a poetry folder and have a few opportunities to try their own creative hand at humorous poetry.

(Koz) Cold Case Christianity:
Have you ever wanted to solve mysteries?  How do you know if information is true?  With so many competing truth claims, it can be difficult to know what to believe.  Join our class as we come alongside Veteran Homicide detective J. Warner Wallace to examine the Case for Jesus Christ.  We will use the same investigative methods as life detectives, such as deductive reasoning, logic, examining evidence, and evaluating eyewitness testimony.  Students will come out of this class more secure in their faith and able to defend it to the secular world. Class Fee $10 for book.

[Please note that, while there are two CCC classes, they are taught at different levels of maturity; so please decide as a parent if your sixth grade student should be enrolled in the upper elementary or the junior high level.]

EARY REGISTRAION FALL 2021

We are so happy to (finally) announce… that South Hall Homeschool
Co-op registration for Fall 2021 semester is open! Classes will begin
Tuesday, August 31 and will continue for the following twelve Tuesdays.

We’ve been waiting for this, and now we are GO! Thank you so much for
your patience.

“Early” Registration will end Friday, July 30. Because of our later
start, July 30 will also be the date for turning in your Class
Descriptions.  Let’s rally our creativity and enthusiasm to shape a
wonderful experience for our kids! It is very important that each
returning mom be willing to “co-operate” in sharing the teaching load so
that we have enough classes for our students to chose from. If you would
like to be matched with a co-teacher, we would be happy to do that. Or,
if you need ideas for classes, we would be glad to suggest some to you.

Once we compile the class descriptions, we will send out the list of
choices the next week so that we can have Class Selection Day on Friday,
August 6. The email with class choices will have detailed instructions
on how to select your students’ classes.

This year we need all families to complete all four forms listed in the
sidebar (Registration, Participation Agreement, Liability Waiver, and
Statement of Faith). You can click the PayPal link and send your forms
digitally to hello@southhallhomeschoolcoop.com. Or mail your forms and
payment to: Stephanie Little, (please email the above to get the address).
And by all means, invite your friends to join us as well. We will
continue to accept registrations until Friday, August 20, or until our
space is full.

We are looking forward to a fantastic semester!

Important:
The time and location has changed slightly. We are now back to Hopewell
Baptist Church. However, we are starting classes at 1:45 rather than
2:00 since some of Hopewell’s building usage policies have changed. The
optional PE class will start at 1:00. The daily schedule will be as
follows:
1:00-1:35 PE
1:45-2:30 First Period Class
2:35-3:20 Second Period Class

Important Calendar Dates:
July 30 Early Registration Ends
August 6 Class Selection Day
August 20 Back to School Night (Details to come)
August 20 Registration Closes
August 31 First Day of Classes
September 9 Mom’s Encouragement Night
October 14 Mom’s Night Out
November 11 Mom’s Encouragement Night

December 7 Christmas Party

Early Registration Family Membership fees:
Lead Teacher- $30. You plan and teach the class content; we assign an
assistant for you.
Co-Lead Teacher- $40. You and another mom decide to plan and teach
together.
New Families ONLY- $50. If you are new to co-op, you are not expected to
teach your first or second semester. We will assign you to be an
assistant in a class. Of course, you are more than welcome to lead or
co-teach and move into that pricing tier if you so desire!

After July 30, the Registration Fee will increase to $65.

Thanks so much!
